Catalogues and Resources ❭ Share Catalogue
SHARE CATALOG is a technological platform for browsing bibliographic catalogs organized according to the BIBFRAME Linked Data data model. The portal, as a single point of access to the wealth of integrated resources (books, documents, ...), makes it possible to optimize times and refine ways of the search experience, returning enriched results from sources external to the catalogues.
Through an intuitive interface it is possible to search for information at different levels:
Person/Work
The data set relating to the Person and his Works, in RDF, is saved in a SPARQL endpoint and made available through specific search and presentation functions.
Publications (Instances)
The bibliographic data is indexed in a search engine capable of producing - by means of facets - different data aggregations (e.g.: date of publication, language, publisher, edition, etc.), providing a wide range of search functions and navigation. However, these are also available in RDF, as linked data.
Item
Access to data relating to copies and their availability, coming from the local OPACs or other system used by each library.
BIBFRAME
BIBFRAME (Bibliographic framework) is a bibliographic structure model which implements the transition from the MARC format to the Linked Open, by incorporating the evolutions underway on the new ways of sharing data, documents and digital resources between cultural fields that use different rules and standards Data and the semantic web. The model, based on the entity-relationship concept of FRBR and RDA, creates bibliographic structures in linked open data, thus bringing catalog data into the semantic web and greatly enriching the information put at the service of users.
