Sustainability

In September 2015, the United Nations approved the “Agenda Globale per lo sviluppo sostenibile” (Agenda 2030) which identifies 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030 . The CBA recognises ifla's position according to which the access to information is essential for reaching SDFs. The libraries can play a strategic role in this journey , and are committed to increase awareness among its users of the importance of the Agenda 2030 and the realization of SDGs.

To do this, UNISA libraries have carried out the "bibliounisa4Dev" project through which they commit themselves first and foremost to carrying out work to raise awareness of sustainability issues and to promote them.

On CBA’s social networks the rubric #bibliounisa4Dev, which is held weekly, tells what the UNISA libraries and global libraries do to reach a sustainable development, modeling their actions in relation to the users to whom they address.

Support to Agenda 2030 also reflects on the CBA collections which decided to create a Fondo Speciale dedicated to the documentation concerning the sustainable development goals . The Fund is located on the third floor of the central humanistic library and can be consulted as a free open shelf.

Within pre-existing collections, instead of dedicated labels they mark texts whose subject touches one or more SDgs, while a specific signage leads the user to comprehend the project.

The CBA participated in the Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile 2020 ( 2020 Sustainable Development Festival) promoted by ASVIS through “the seminario online #biblio UNISA4dev” with the partnership of the UNISA European Documentation Centre and the “Osservatorio culture giovanili OCPG UNISA”.
