What MLOL is
MLOL is the first and main Italian digital library, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through the portal it is possible to borrow ebooks from the major Italian publishers, listen to music and audiobooks in streaming and download and access hundreds of thousands of other digital assets.
How to have access to MLOL
To start to use MLOL, the credentials CAU UNISA are necessary. It will be sufficient to have an internet connection to have access to the site and start to consult the available resources, from every place and every device. To login, select University of studies of Salerno from the drop-down menu and insert the credentials. After the login, select the section My account from the navigation bar, thus you have a summary of information and you can verify what resources you borrow, what reservations are active, historical borrowings and every information in relation to your own profile.
What you can find on MLOL
The contents of the collection are divided into “MLOL Resources” and “Open Resources” , depending on the channel of origin.
As “MLOL Resources” you can find ebooks from major Italian publishers and publishing groups to borrow for 14 days, audiobooks and music.
The collection of “OPEN Resources” is always accessible to everyone and is made up of over 560,000 open resources
A selection of digital objects also curated with the collaboration of libraries; a completely free collection of ebooks, audiobooks, sheet music, audio and video resources, e-learning, maps and much more.
Ebook borrowed on MLOL
After searching the title that you're interested in, firstly you must have access to the card to verify that the ebook is available immediately for the loan: if it is free, you will see the Download button in the card and you can proceed with the loan, otherwise you can book it.
The commercial ebooks from catalogue of “MLOL Resource” can be downloaded and read either on computer and on mobiles, but first it is necessary to create an account Adobe(whose name is ID Adobe) and download and install the suitable softwares on your own devices.
These steps are necessary only the first time when you borrow an ebook; then just download it to start reading.
If you are using a computer, download and install the Adobe Digital Editions program. Open the program and click on "Help", in the upper left: click on "Authorize computer" and enter the credentials of your newly created Adobe ID. When you download an ebook from MLOL, just choose to open it with Adobe Digital Editions to start reading on your computer.
If you are using an iOS or Android mobile device, you can use the MLOL Reader application. To access it, click on the Login menu item, select your library system from the drop-down menu and enter the same username and password that you use to access UNISA.
Remember: in this case you have to give the authorization to the app with your own ID Adobe, from the section of settings, above on the right. Clicking on the button Cloud on the app, you will have the list of titles borrowed. To transfer an ebook from Cloud to device you have to click on the cover: in this way, the title that you have chosen will be downloaded on your own device and you'll carry on reading it.
You can also read MLOL ebooks on an e-reader, as long as it supports Adobe DRM and epub format (on the Adobe website you can consult the list of compatible devices). So: Cybook, Kobo, Tolino, Sony and many others, but not the Kindle. In these cases, as a rule, to read ebooks on e-readers it is necessary to connect the device to the computer and transfer them via Adobe Digital Editions. For more information, you can write to info@medialibrary.it indicating the e-reader model at your disposal.
For the next 14 days, the borrowed ebook will not be available to other users.
The return is fictitious, nothing needs to be done; the file will simply become unreadable after 14 days

If you are looking for an ebook that is not in our MLOL collections, you can suggest buying it. That's how:
- Connect to MLOL
- Enter the general catalog by clicking on Explore the catalog, on the left side of the home, without logging in
- Search for the desired title
- Click on "Suggest the buying to your library" and enter your UNISA CAUs as requested
- Your request will be evaluated and processed in a short time.
